Comment on Five Honest Reasons Why I Watch Adult Content Online by isomKuade http://isomkuadejournal.com/five-honest-reasons-watch-adult-content-online/#comment-51267 Sun, 26 Oct 2014 13:56:59 +0000 http://isomkuadejournal.com/?p=3100#comment-51267 Thx for reading and more thx for commenting. I’m glad you liked the post – I’m just over here trying to put words to my truth. If anyone can relate to it, I’m thrilled. This thing called marriage and life is a summbitch, and sometimes we only keep our sanity by being able to read our own thoughts back to us at a later date. Hope to see you around here more often, sir.

I am a newly married, black writer who has not had the courage to write how I feel online. But many things I can agree on – this being one of them. Sometimes this is just a way to release frustration or find exoctic stimulation… Nevertheless, it is an adventure, for me, like reading a book. Submerging myself in it. Also, it helps me write a hell of a story after words. Kudos. Keep up the good writing and honesty. Looking forward to reading more.

Comment on How I Told My Wife I Was No Longer a Christian by Kristin http://isomkuadejournal.com/told-wife-longer-christian/#comment-29074 Mon, 29 Sep 2014 18:22:10 +0000 http://isomkuadejournal.com/?p=3259#comment-29074 Thanks for sharing. My dad is a pastor and they have always shared with me of Jesus and His love and how to come to faith in him. I believed blindly because I loved my family. Then I started to understand the love of Jesus Christ for myself and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. There are many things that I still don’t know as a Christian but I can’t deny what God has done in my heart. I believe that once the Holy Spirit enters your heart, you can’t go back…it’s too real and so fulfilling.
Now, I don’t believe that you can be “born a Christian”. Growing up going to church doesn’t make one a Christian. Making a decision to put your “faith” in Jesus Christ death and resurrection and the abundant life (love, joy, peace, etc.)that he came to give us is what makes us a Christian. Following Him and obeying him is how I grow in that love relationship with God. Going to church is not what helps us experience God (though it can be very helpful- I personally attend a gathering on Sunday). Reading the bible isn’t even what does it…you have to have an experience with God. That’s the only thing that confirms it. If you had all the proof in the world, that wouldn’t be faith..that would be logic. Funny thing is, God is so big that our logic would never amount to who He really is. Praying that God would give you an experience with him that those books that you read could never provide.

I was raised in a Church of Christ family, but I no longer believe most of the key tenets of that denomination. However, I am still a Christian. Continue to rigorously interrogate reality, and you’ll continue to journey toward truth.

My brother’s suicide was the nail in the coffin for me. I too inhabit a happier plane of existence these days. Cheers.

I’m working on something similar entitled “How My Son Made It Okay to Admit I’m an Atheist”. I spent years in the church, even serving as a Worship Leader, a Drama Leader, and on the Leadership Team. 9/11 was my wake up call, and much like you I went through the Bible with a whole new set of eyes. I walked away, and I have been a much happier man since doing so.

I don’t need it to be restored. I’m happier now with my spirituality than I’ve ever been before. Just because a person grows from their parent’s faith, doesn’t always mean it’s a bad thing. I have faith, just more in myself and my people than anything supernatural – but that’s a whole other post.

Your faith just needs to be restored.
