33 Simple Life Lessons, Hacks, and Useless Musings on My 33rd Birthday

 

  1. Most people are out here just trying to make it. Don’t be like most people.
  2. Money is the great divider between humans and nature tricking people to believe they don’t need nature as long as they have money. You can’t eat money.
  3. You better still have your fair share of money to move around in this world though, so get your money up. It won’t matter one day, but today it will make life a whole lot easier if you have some spare cash coming in.
  4. 2 Chainz is a genius – I swear he knows my heart when it comes to exactly what I want every single birthday.
  5. I’d rather have a squad of good people around me and supporting me than be alone with whatever god is culturally popular at the time. Friends answer phone calls exactly when you need them to every single time.
  6. You’re still not going to get shit you didn’t grind for – unless you were born into it.
  7. Your shitty situation is most likely a byproduct of the terrible people you have around you.
  8. Just because you have two great people doesn’t mean they are great for each other.
  9. Your favorite people in the world have debilitating personal vices they struggle with every single day.
  10. Life will teach you – repeatedly.
  11. Your most difficult struggle will be one of finding your internal balance in spite of all the external pushing and pulling on you, your goals, and your character.
  12. Almost every single living person considers themselves “better than average” – this is mathematically impossible.
  13. Marijuana is the best. The Best.

  15. I think everyone should practice the skill of shutting off their brain.
  16. It still amazes me how much Kanye West’s music can move me to tears. I don’t cry for much.
  17. Being comfortable will get you nowhere close to your dreams.

  21. The American Dream is more of a marketing ploy than a tangible destination. Learning this will prevent much a lot of unnecessary headaches.
  22. If you haven’t taken the time to get to know yourself intimately, you’re already at a disadvantage every single day. This is especially true in a world where Facebook knows most people better than they know themselves.
  23. You’re unique – not special. Learn the difference.
  24. Some people around me will prosper off default, just because we’re affiliated.
  25. If I could have one wish, it would be that my wife and son could read my mind, and be in tune with exactly how I feel about them, exactly what I want for them, and an understanding of why I do the things that I do. Miscommunication is the root of so many struggles.
  26. The biggest thing I want for my son is inner strength and the courage to always face himself – in spite of himself.
  27. Friends are everything.
  28. The written word is one of the only ways to immortalize oneself.
  29. Death is coming for us all. I think the acknowledgement of this could unify the globe.
  30. The most important question will always be “Why?”
  31. I imagine ambrosia would taste like either crab legs or glorious vagina. They’re both about on equal grounds.
  32. If your spouse can’t be truly open and vulnerable with you, then what’s the point, and what the fuck are you two working towards?
  33. Mental and physical travel is necessary.
